This stylish little kettle is just what I needed for everyday use. While it’s the pour-over style, I use it as a regular kettle to boil water for tea. My old traditional whistling kettle released steam that would burn our hands, was clunky and dispensed water so forcefully it would often splash. This kettle is delicate, has a spout that’s precise, and looks great on my stove. It’s perfect for boiling water for two cups of tea.
This is a wonderful kettle with one major flaw. I simply love how it controls the temperature. I love using it on my induction hob. The flaw. The lid falls off while in pouring position. Very fortunately it did not crack my teapot but fearing this, I immediately stuck a couple of inches of tape on the lid to add some friction. This simple hack fixed the problem. I am posting this to warn potential buyers of this issue.
The metal lid will fall off of the kettle when tipped too far when pouring. I find the kettle is empty of liquid before that occurs
The blue area that tells you when it's coffee time makes it so easy. We wanted to get eliminate the plastic that is in regular coffee makers (even though we really liked it) and this has made it much easier to change over from keurig to pour over. I haven't had any problems with this at all.
I've been using this for many months. It's great. The lid stays on when pouring. No rust.
Works fine, despite the loose lid, but after a couple of years, the interior seam at the bottom began to develop rust stains. So, not exactly stainless steel. I will be looking for a new, higher quality product for my pour overs.
The gooseneck kettle offers excellent control for pour-over coffee, and the built-in thermometer is super handy for perfect water temperature. Stylish, well-made
Product and company are amazing. After using this kettle for several months the thermometer became inaccurate. I emailed the company and got an immediate response from the owner and CEO. I originally wanted to get a new thermometer but in 5 days I had a whole new kettle. This company stands behind its product and has awesome customer service!Buy their stuff!!
Nice looking kettle and the thermometer works well. My only complaint is that the cap comes loose when pouring out the water.
My wife likes really strong, hot coffee in the morning and our K-cup machines just come up short in both of those departments, so we switched to making pour over coffee. A gooseneck kettle is mandatory for slowly pouring hot water over the grounds when making one cup at a time. In addition, the kettle has a thermometer to measure the water so that you can heat the water to the optimum temperature (200F). The kettle is well made and is perfect for making pour over coffee. We have been using it daily for over 3 months and are 110% satisfied. So satisfied that I am ordering another one to put in our RV.
Excellent coffee pot. The poor spell allows for very controlled pouring. It is a stainless steel. It recommends using distilled water rather than tap water. I usually wash it out about once a week. Otherwise I just leave the water in there and heat it up when needed. The handles excellent. Though it gets a little warm it never gets hot. I love the thermometer on the top. There is a blue line that you reach and it tells you when the water is at the right temperature. I highly recommend this item. Completely as described.
So, honest review…this was not my first choice…but it turned out to be my best choice.I purchased a colored one from a different company (paid more for it, too) and it was bad out of the gate. Paint burned off the first use. So, back to no pretty paint and good old stainless.I have an induction stovetop and this will work on it, but it hasn’t got a completely flat bottom (middle is concave), so it does the induction surge from not making full contact. Still, it works and no burning paint so big bonus on that.If you make pour over coffee, this is a great kettle for that. I’m not convinced the thermometer will keep working, but you soon get used to what it sounds like when the water reaches the right temperature, so I’m not going to worry about the thermometer. If it stops working, it will get replaced with a regular pot knob which would make it less cumbersome in the long run.Yes, so far, I would recommend this to a friend.
Purchased a similar goose neck kettle many moons ago from Amazon. Nothing functionally wrong with it, but it was starting to look a little banged up. Unfortunately, I was unable to buy the same kettle as it was NLA on Amazon.Purchased another goose neck kettle, brand starts with a G, and it was simply awful in its design on many levels: heavy, neck too close to the kettle so every pour included a slight leak, being tall it took longer to reach proper temperature, diffucult to clean, and the thermometer was Inside the kettle.Luckily, I Was able to stumble upon the LuxHaus kettle, and I'm in pour over heaven! Except for some minor differences--the name and a max line inside the kettle--this is Exactly the same as the kettle that served me well for so many years. The G brand kettle? In the garbage it went.
Looks nice and heats up in about 40 seconds on the induction stove. After a month of using it 3 to 4 times a day I'm happy with it.The lid is a little loose but won't come off unless you turn it upside down.It rattles around when it's close to a boil, and I guess it could pop off if it boils to Vigorously if you walk away, but by the time I get the filter setups with the coffee it's ready to go.The only worry I would have is the way the bottom is attached, Looks like it might be crimped together, so repairing might be an issue in the long run
Based on my research this is the best goose neck kettle for pour-over coffee. It allows great control of speed and volume and the built in lid thermometer features an easy to read dial that is not crowded by the inclusion of metric numbering (I.e. there is no metric scale). I originally wanted a painted kettle, but I think the stainless metal should be easier to clean since it will not fade or chip. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that the kettle does not actually whistle as described. Steam does issue from three small holes in the lid, but it makes virtually no sound.
Nice kettle. Love the temperature gauge in the lid. Works well. Some do not like how the lid fits but I found it made it easier to remove and and refill. Lid never comes off when pouring. Also in the event you overfill the kettle, the lid rattles to alert you. Other kettles I have owned with tighter fitting lid spewed water out the spout when overfilled. If any water does boil over it comes out where the lid is not shooting out the spout. A plus for the kettle. We also had a small rust pit in the bottom after three months. Stuff happens. Emailed customer service. Sent a pic of the problem and they promptly sent us a new kettle. Customer Service A+
If this is the type of kettle you need or have used in the past, then this is a good purchase. I think this works best for other pour over coffee makers than the French press. Anyway, prefer the whistle as it reminds me to turn off the stove. Heats quickly for use on a glass to stove.Update: After over 1.5 years of use, the kettle performs like it did the first day. However, the thermometer screw has gotten loose over a few times. I finally used pliers to tighten it. The color and condition has remained the same for weekly use. To remove hard water spots, I use a spray calcium remover on the inside. Let it set for 5 minutes, rinse, and then wash. Looks like it did the first day I bought it.
