So far it's been a nice little kettle. Had it a few weeks. Works great on the Gas stove. The size in much smaller than the old whistling kettle we had for years but is working out great for a household of two people. One of us a coffee drinker the other preferring tea. It holds plenty of water to make a pour over coffee and a cup of tea.I see other users complaining the handle gets very hot. Mine gets warm to the touch but not uncomfortable to hold at all. The package comes with a warning to not have the flame under the kettle extend outside the bottom of the kettle. I've been using it that way and it's been fine. If you have an electric stove you will have to pick the best sized burner to place it on for the same result.I like the temperature Guage which takes guessing out of reaching the best temperature to brew at. Overall this seems like a well made handy kettle to have for the cost.

4/28/19 Update: I’ve been using this kettle for seven months now and it is the best!9/15/18 Update: The new kettle is fine, no problems even when filling the kettle to 32oz. I have posted a quick video of the kettle heating 32oz, where the water level reaches that critical area of the attached handle, Bean Envy is working hard to weed out the few with the problem coating on the handle. I've never experienced this level of communication and care for the customer.9/5/18 Update: Bean Envy has excellent customer service! They followed up immediately regarding the handle problem and are replacing the kettle. I'm upgrading the rating to the five stars I would have originally given it and will reassess after I have used the replacement for a week or so.------------------------------------------------I was about to do a five star review on this kettle. I’ve been using it daily for a week and a half and have loved everything about it, the size, the design, the sturdy feel of it, the ease of pouring, knowing your temperature is just right. I had no problems, no melting of the top of the handle like others have experienced, although I had noticed that when using 20oz of water to make two coffees instead of my usual 10 oz for one, the handle was almost too hot to hold unless you gripped just at the very bottom of it. Yesterday I needed to make three cups of coffee so used 30oz of water which only filled it 3/4 (it has a 40oz capacity) and the top of the handle melted, just as others had described! I guess this kettle is fine if you don’t ever fill it more than halfway. I’m so disappointed.

I highly recommend this product. We bought both the pour over carafe and this kettle and feel spoiled now with the quality of coffee we get every morning. The kettle comes with a thermometer on top and there is a green area that is optimal for pour over temperature so they make it easy for you to get a good brew. Make sure you use a burner that is similar in size so there isn't heat from the burner coming up to possibly melt the handle with direct heat from the burner. If your only burner is bigger make sure the side with the handle it's on the edge to avoid direct heat to the handle. It will work great for you.Also, I accidentally got sidetracked helping my son with something and left the kettle boiling for about an hour and it had evaporated the water and then charred the kettle a little and messed the thermometer up a bit. I told Bean Envy by email and within less than 2 hours they responded and are sending me a replacement free of charge with absolutely no hassle. I am going to buy a couple more of their other coffee products because they are high quality products and back them up 100% and are prompt and very friendly in their communication. This is a company you want to do business with. Enjoy good coffee with their great products!

What a great product. I love the usability of it. Fill it with water, put the lid on and heat. The built in thermometer is genius. I particularly like the fact that handle doesn't get hot when your water is ready. The kettle is well made and it is clear time and thought went into the design, the instructions and the packaging - everything feels high end.I used the kettle to make coffee several times this week and I can say that I am happy with this purchase. I attached a quick video of me using it just to show folks how usable the kettle is. Easy to see thermometer, easy to carry handle and great spout for that professional pouring feeling! ;-)Overall I am happy with this kettle and I look forward to all the delicious cups of coffee I am going to make with it!

Ok so I let this boil over twice and it still works. Even the thermometer. I love this tea pot - so great for drip coffee especially. I ve used it for probably 2 yrs and I would buy again. Well made

Construction quality is good with a well placed and easily seen thermometer which appears accurate with reference to a rival thermometer 's reading. The device works well on a gas flame or on an induction burner tops.

I love this tea kettle. It seems to be made of quality components. I’m actually on my second one. I contacted the seller to see if I could get a replacement thermometer since it got water inside of it but they don’t sell that component so I purchased a second unit. That is my only criticism of the item is the thermometer getting steam condensation inside. But the best way to prevent that is to not let the water continue to boil and steam- just stay nearby so you can take it off the heat once it reaches temperature. That’s the safe way to do things as well! 😃 I really like the glass lid feature and the thermometer, two things that I believe sets this tea kettle apart from others. The stainless steel is quality as well. And the handle does not get hot at all on my induction cooktop. The company has great customer service, so I feel good purchasing from them and know that they will help and value my patronage. Definitely recommend this tea kettle!

I use this daily for my pourover coffee. I love the see-through glass lid with the steam vent. In 2 months of daily use, I haven't had any rust issues. It boils fast, pours cleanly without dribbling, the lid opening is plenty big enough to get my hand or a dish brush in there to clean it, and so far the handle and thermometer have not had any issues with melting. My friends said to get an electric kettle, but I went with my gut and ordered this gooseneck instead. No regrets - it's what I really wanted, and I'm very happy with it.That said, read and heed the care and use instructions, folks. I fill this only halfway, I keep the gas flame smaller than the bottom of the kettle, and I turn off the heat as soon as it boils. If you're not going to be using it for a few days, pour out any remaining water (perfect to water houseplants with, after cooling) and leave the lid off to let it dry between uses.

I gave it 5 stars because I think it's the right quality for the price.Pros:It's quite solid and well-constructed, with a nicely heavy base. I think the glass top is a nice feature that sets it apart from other gooseneck kettle's i've seen. The thermometer is accurate and has a clearly marked target temperature range for pour-over coffee. Easy to hold and use, and it's very easy to control the stream of water coming out of the spout.Cons:The lid fits a little too snug, so when fully inserted it takes some effort to remove it again. I prefer to leave it resting on top rather than pressed in because I'm a little nervous about damaging the thermometer knob. Also, the manufacture seam on the plastic handle is pronounced, and is a bit scratchy and uncomfortable to hold. I'll probably sand it down.For context, my last gooseneck was a cheaper brand that I never really liked and this is a far superior product! My other gooseneck had thin construction and the inside rusted at the seams if I left water in it overnight. The thermometer was unreliable and eventually broke altogether. It was not very easy to control the stream, either, which is the whole point of a gooseneck. Much happier with this purchase.

I’ve used this kettle every morning for over a year to make my coffee. The pour is great, the thermometer is great, it seems very durable.When I’m done, I shake out the excess water then briefly put it on the burner empty to dry it after each use. I accidentally left it on the burner empty probably 4 times to the point the bottom was red hot. This caused some discoloration on the bottom exterior and possibly some damage to the bottom, but has not changed its performance.After I had this kettle over a year, I suddenly noticed the thermometer was reading way low. It happened overnight, so it could have been a result of overheating, or dropping, I’m not sure how. I tested it in ice water, and it was 11 degrees C too low. Unfortunately there is no one way to adjust or calibrate the thermometer, which would be my one complaint. I emailed Bean Envy customer service, and Jill sent me a new Kettle in less than a week, no questions asked.

This is a goose neck kettle with a thermometer built in. It does exactly what you want/need it to do.BUTMinor quibble, the flow of water toward the end can become turbulent, so if you're tilting it to get the last of the water, be careful.More substantial quibble, the use of the handle on the lid as a thermometer is convenient and functional, but do remember that that handle is making direct contact with the water, which, if boiling, is transmitting that heat into the handle! The first time this becomes apparent is a bit of a surprise, though there is likely no occasion where grasping the hot handle is going to lead to dropping it or other major issue or injury. Just be careful.Sort of coupled with that hot handle issue, the lid does have an interference lip on it to keep it in place, which makes that hot handle tricky if you need to get the lid off in a hurry for any reason. Keep a towel or hot mit or glove handy if this becomes an issue.Generally happy with the kettle for pour overs, keeping that tilted turbulence in mind.

I probably research more than I should, and I end up getting paranoid! However, after receiving this product, the Bean Envy Gooseneck, I would have to say I have been happy with the purchase.The quality is good, the stainless steel did NOT come with any rust, and it pours well with our pour over coffee. I will update if we see rust (my primary concern), but I think this will not.Cleaning is easy, as I can fit my hand Inside to clean up any buildup with a scrubbier. My only complaint is that there is a crease on the inside of the kettle. Preferably, it wouldn’t be there, as it’s a place for calcium buildup to occur.The thermostat is, to me, a bonus. It works well, and temps accurately within a few seconds. We heat up our water with our electric hot water kettle and pour it into this one. That ones thermostat agrees with this one regarding the water temp!One review showed glue coming out the bottom of the outside of the kettle when put on stove top. We have not had this occur (due to our way of heating water), but will update If it does. Looks like the bottom “Triple layer SS plate” is a separate piece, so it would be understandable that glue is used to adhere it to the kettle.TL:DR: got it for $30, seems like a good one for the price!

I bought this as an interim for getting a nice electric gooseneck kettle for my chemex, since trying it with my old oxo electric kettle was just not gonna happen with its normal spout.I can report that the fit and finish are wonderful, it's very solidly built and feels very nice. The thermometer is accurate as well between 100F-212F (tested with two known accurate digital thermometers)But I have to knock a star off for two reasons - Firstly, it's just a hair too small. 1.2L is very, very full, and if you're using it that full on a gas range with a burner that's bigger than the bottom, the heat from the burner can boil the water in the neck and cause it to burp a bit as it gets closer to 190F, and if you're not using a small gas burner, it will get the handle quite hot too, requiring a towel to hold. If it's on a correctly sized burner or electric stove, none of these problems will trouble you. The instructions say to only use medium-ish heat, but I did about cycles at full blast on my stove's small burner and it was absolutely fine, the kettle is made from very heavy gauge steel. And the second problem is that it's just agonizingly slow to heat water. 3-5 times longer than my electric kettle. I gave up after about 10 attempts of use to use it as the tool for actually heating water.The reason I keep it at 4 stars and not 3 since it doesn't actually work as a kettle for boiling water to me, is that it's got a fantastically precise spout that works beautifully for actual pourover. Solution? boil the water in my electric kettle in a snap, pout it into this kettle, and then use it for the chemex. It'll tide me over well until I get that $150 electric gooseneck I want.In the meantime, if you just need water for coffee pourover, and don't have some special electricity considerations like old breakers, I'd recommend a 1.7L electric gooseneck with no fancy precision temperature control (that's just for tea anyways) which is about the same price as this. If you already have an electric kettle you love and just want a gooseneck container for making your pourover coffee, this does the trick wonderfully, and if you have no electricity in your house or want a kettle for pourover while camping or something where electricity is limited/unavailable, definitely recommend.

I'm on month 3, using this 5 days a week, and the kettle is as good as new. I actually ordered 3 kettles from Amazon. I'm sure they love that, but I wasn't 100% happy with the others. I use this for my Bodum pour over coffee every morning. I'm not a coffee snob. I don't grind my coffee and I don't buy premium single blend whatever. I buy what's on sale at Costco so this review is based on that kind of person!Quick review before I talk about the other two kettles. It's a nice kettle. No stains after 3 months. The size is perfect for my 1 liter bodum pour over. I fill this to the bottom of the top ring with cold filtered water from the fridge. Pop on the top and set my kitchen timer for 7 minutes. Electric glass top stove. Hits about 200 at that 7 minute mark. I do the pouring. Pop off the top (which could be easier), pour out any extra water making sure anything in the gooseneck is poured out. Hang the top off the side of the kettle and since it's still hot, it dries quickly. People talk about rust and staining and I suppose this helps prevent that. I compared the temp with another thermometer I have and they matched.So, I also bought the Coffee Gator Pour Over Kettle and the Ovalware RJ3 Stainless Steel Drip Kettle.The Ovalware was a 1 liter kettle. It just seemed too small. I had to fill it to the brim with water to get a proper amount to prepare my morning coffee. The base was smaller than the other two so took a little longer to heat up. I like that it had no seams at the bottom. Does it matter? I don't know, but its description made me feel it was a nice selling point.The Coffee Gator was almost identical. There were a few differences. I THINK the bottom was a little thicker. Possibly thinner. Doesn't matter really, but because of that (or despite that), it allowed the water to boil nearly a minute faster than the Bean Envy. The other difference was the lid. The Coffee Gator was loose. I emailed them and they said it was something they were looking into for the next round. The lid on The Bean Envy is pretty tight. It's possibly too tight. The other difference was the pour. They water pours the same way, but the Bean Envy is more comfortable to hold. Silly, but not really. You're pouring water for a minute and your wrist is more comfortable. It's in a more ergonomic position. I never thought I'd say something that ridiculous about a coffee kettle.

I bought this with the pour-over coffee system from Bean Envy, and was a little surprised when both came as to how small they were. Then, I realized, they make a coffee which is so rich and refined that I don't need a larger system. I make just the amount of coffee my husband and I can consume in the morning with this system, and if I need to make coffee for a large crowd, I have a larger beaker and Kettle for that. This way, they don't take up too much room sitting out on the counter where they live most of the time, looking pretty. I found that if I leave water in the little kettle at simmering temperatures - easy to see on the temperature gauge - I have hot water available all day for tea on demand. The temperature gauge is SO useful! You know just how hot the liquid is when you are going to pour, for anything. I love that feature.Now I have been using my teakettle for several months, and I wish to add an update! I am SO impressed with the customer service for this company, I need to express it: they guarantee their product, which is wonderful, but I - of course - put it to the test, not intentionally. I accidentally overheated the teakettle, and damaged the thermometer. When I contact their support portal, I was given an immediate response by the company to correct the situation. I am delighted! And I must say - this little kettle lives on my stove, handy at a low heat for tea whenever I want it, too. It's pretty, and useful for adding hot water to anything I am cooking. It's small enough so it is easy to pick up and pour, and much more useful than a larger kettle.

Just got this in the mail along with Bean Envy’s glass carafe and paperless filter. So far I love all these products! I was a little hesitant because this company is supposedly a start up company but the customer service is awesome and very helpful. They told me everything is made in China. The company started in the Pacific Northwest but now have offices in Phoenix and Tampa. I cleaned everything thoroughly with dish soap and hot water and boiled water a few times before I acutally used it to make coffee, like the directions say. Everything is made with quality stainless steel and aluminum. The thermometer actually works which is great. I even tested the accuracy with my own personal cooking thermometer and it was a very accurate reading. People are saying that the plastic melts on the handle and stuff but you just have to heat it up properly and don’t use a burner that’s a way larger surface area than the kettle and it boils the water perfectly and fast. Just don’t be an idiot and use really over the top flames or a stove top that’s too big. People are just idiots... of course plastic melts if you put too much heat or flames under it... just heat it up properly. And also, I think the lid is perfect and not too snug or loose. It keeps the heat in perfectly. So I’d say so far so good and it’s a great quality product. Lifetime warranty!

I first bought this product a few months ago, and had issues with the handle of the kettle overheating and melting.I reached out to customer service, and could not have asked for a better response. The founder of the company reached out to me to make sure that my product was replaced and my issues with the product were corrected.Since this event, they have made a few changes to the design of their product to insure that other customers won't experience this issue.I love the design of this kettle - it stands out on my stovetop when placed among other kettles. The gooseneck design allows me to carefully pour the exact amount of water I need when preparing a pour-over or AeroPress. The thermometer is easy to read and fairly accurate, letting you know when your water is at the perfect temperature to prepare your coffee. And the kettle heats up quickly and retains its heat.Everything you could ask for in a stovetop kettle!I have to say that I am extremely satisfied with this product and the customer service. I'll definitely consider Bean Envy for future coffee-related items!

I bought a few Bean Envy items- the canister, the kettle, and the pour-over coffee maker, so I'll comment on all 3 here and duplicate the review on the other 2.First, the Canister. Love it. It's function is simple and it has a great seal, so I know it's keeping our grounds nice and fresh. It also has a date indicator on top of the lid so you know exactly how long your coffee has been stored. It's super easy to set which is nice too. It also comes with the stainless scooper as you can see in the photo, so you always know where it is! A nice touch from Bean Envy. Finally, it looks great! Stainless goes with everything. :)The Kettle- Another simple device. Looks great on my stove and never spills a drop. This kettle also comes with a thermometer built into the lid, which is really great. That allows me to heat my water to just the right temp. Couldn't ask for more.The Pour-Over Coffee Maker- This is a killer way to make your coffee. It's a more "intimate experience" and I really enjoy making coffee this way. The filter that Bean Envy includes is a metal fiber that is super fine. So it produces a really clean cup of coffee, and the filter is very easy to clean. And I really like that I'm not adding to the landfill.
