My Gevi espresso machine is great, but the included accessories felt a bit cheap. The plastic tamper and spoon were a hassle, and I was always guessing the right pressure. This new set has significantly improved my routine.​The Tamper:​The tamper is solid and comfortable to hold. The aluminum handle feels nice, and the weight is ideal. The best feature is the internal spring, which ensures I apply the perfect 30 pounds of pressure every time. I also appreciate the 304 stainless steel base, completely rust free. Just wash it in the water with soap.​Magnetic Dosing Funnel:​This funnel has made my life easier. It makes pouring coffee grounds into the portafilter clean and simple. The magnet is just strong enough and keeps the portafilter securely in place.​WDT Tool:​I'm not sure what WDT stands for, but this tool is excellent for breaking up coffee clumps after grinding. It helps me get a more even and consistent extraction. It also comes in a nice wooden case that keeps it clean and protected.​Overall, this set is a little more expensive than other product that you can find on Amazon, but the quality is fantastic and functional. It's a solid upgrade for any coffee enthusiast and would make a great gift. Just be sure to check the portafilter size before you order.

This looks and feels like a deluxe espresso set, made of solid heavy metal (aluminum), beautifully machined parts, and what looks like a wooden and brass WDT (Weiss Distribution Technique) tool that screws shut for safe keeping.The tamper is designed to fit all standard 54 mm portafilters. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this size, and our espresso portafilter is a mm or two too small for the tamper and dosing funnel to fit. So be sure to measure your portafilter before ordering this.There are no instructions included on how to best use the equipment, so you'll have to do your own research (unless you're already an expert). I did learn that the WDT tool "is used to evenly distribute coffee grounds in the portafilter basket before tamping, which breaks up clumps and ensures a more consistent coffee bed. This improved distribution leads to more uniform water flow, preventing channeling, enhancing extraction, and ultimately improving the flavor and consistency of the espresso shot." This I can still use, no matter what size my portafilter is.There are numbers on the side of the tamper, and you can rotate its handle to change the setting. I believe that rotating the handle clockwise lowers the handle towards the base, and compresses the spring more. This would increase the force on the grounds when you press down until it clicks. I have no idea which setting is best (again, no instructions) so you can experiment to see what you like.

Everything in the set is good except the dosing funnel has a lip that sits on the inside of the portafilter, which leaves a ring in the coffee once the funnel is removed. I purchased a different funnel that doesn’t have the lip and this results in a much more even distribution of coffee around the puck before tamping. I usually use the WDT prior to removing the funnel, but if you were okay with using it after removing the funnel, this may not be an issue. I also found the funnel magnets to be a bit weak. The other two tools are great!

For the price it’s a good set but you need to do things to make this better. This might just be a learning curve as I’m new to the espresso game. The first thing I took a piece of an eraser and shoved it down in the wdt tool. The wires need to be further apart. The tamper twist the handle down and it works pretty good. Has nice weight to it.
